Normacot Improvement Week (by Miss Rowe – Deputy Head)

Our pupils were thrilled to be involved in a range of exciting opportunities during Normacot Improvement Week. The School Council, and others, always look forward to being active citizens in the community and making a difference to their local environment. Activities offered included:

  • Advertising the events through posters and leaflet competitions;
  • Litter picking around the local area;
  • Traffic surveys;
  • Speedwatch involvement;
  • Fire assembly by Ben Community Firefighter;
  • Pop up Youth Club;

We also thank our local police and PCSOs for a fantastic end to the week where the pupils learned about staying safe and police roles and responsibilities. The pupils were joined by Potamus (Stoke- mascot), Port Vale representatives and Boomer (Port Vale mascot) and, last but not least, Kash the police mascot.

Friday’s events included visits by:

  • Police dog handler and dogs;
  • Police motorcyclists;
  • Armed Response Team,
  • Tesco representatives from Longton and Meir Tesco stores

A big thank you to everyone from all at Alexandra Junior School
